How to Apply

As a local academy, our school manages its own in-year admissions. However, for the main entry points (Reception and Year 7), applications must be made through our Local Authority (LA) or Council’s coordinated admission scheme.

1. Main Entry Points (Reception)

  • All applications for a Reception place must be made via your Local Authority’s coordinated admissions process.

  • You can usually apply online through your Local Authority website. The application window typically opens in the autumn term and closes in January for entry the following September.

  • The Local Authority will notify you of the outcome on National Offer Day (usually in April).

2. In-Year Admissions (Years R–6)

  • If your child is already in school and you are looking to transfer them to Geometry Primary Academy during the school year, this is an In-Year Admission.

  • Please contact the school office directly to inquire about current availability in the relevant year group.

  • We will provide you with the necessary application form and information regarding the transfer process.

Our Admissions Policy and Criteria

Our Admissions Policy outlines the criteria we use to allocate places if the school is oversubscribed (meaning we receive more applications than there are places available).

Our oversubscription criteria are applied in the following order of priority:

  1. Looked After Children and previously Looked After Children.

  2. Children with a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND) where the school is named on the child’s Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan.

  3. Children with a sibling already attending the school.

  4. Children of staff members at Geometry Primary Academy.

  5. All other children, with priority given based on the distance of the child’s home address from the school, measured in a straight line.

Please review our full Admissions Policy for detailed definitions and information regarding tie-breaks, distance calculations, and appeals. You can download the current policy below: [Insert Link to Admissions Policy PDF Here]

Appeals

If your child is not offered a place and you wish to appeal the decision, you have the right to do so. Information about the appeal process, including deadlines and forms, can be found on our Local Authority’s website or by contacting the school office.
